About Saintfield Community Association
A registered charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for all inhabitants of Saintfield and the surrounding area.
Our Mission
Saintfield Community Association (SCA) is committed to promoting the benefit of the inhabitants of Saintfield and surrounding area without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, political, religious or other opinion.
We work in partnership with statutory authorities, voluntary and community groups, and private sector organisations to achieve our charitable objectives and create a thriving community for all.
Our Objectives
- 1. Promote village renewal and regeneration, maintain and improve public amenities
- 2. Promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public and local community
- 3. Promote culture and heritage, raise awareness of local history
- 4. Sustain and improve local economy through tourism and recreational activities
- 5. Promote other charitable purposes as may be determined
- 6. Promote co-operation and partnership working between all sectors
Our History
From humble beginnings to a thriving community organisation serving Saintfield.
Foundation
Saintfield Development Association established to serve the local community and promote village development.
Merger and Rebrand
Merged with Saintfield Community Trust (NI649047) in November 2022. Renamed to Saintfield Community Association, a change welcomed by members and the wider community.
Youth Club Launch
A major ambition realised with the formation of the Youth Club, bringing together 120 young people with 12 accredited leaders. Saintfield News celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Heritage Park Funding
Secured 903,000 GBP from National Lottery Heritage Fund plus a generous $100,000 donation from an American benefactor for the Saintfield Community Heritage Park project.

Four dedicated teams work together to serve our community, each with specific focus areas but united in purpose.

Active in organising and running events and activities for the benefit of the local community.

Ensuring financial governance and coordinating grant applications to the highest standards.
